Beard Butter
Softened. Not slicked.
A balm for facial hair that goes in at the skin and works out. Made for the stage after washing and before anything is shaped.
Alone, on a short beard.
Before the beard oil it is the first of two: butter into the skin, oil over the hair.
The box is kept on this device. Nothing is charged until you check out from La Boîte.
The object, stated
- Formatfacial-hair balm
- JobFacial-hair softening, worked in at the skin
One format, one size, no shade and no scent to choose. The decision is between this and the beard oil: the butter goes to the skin, the oil finishes the hair.
Why the house keeps itShea butter is what it is built on, and the skin under the beard is what it is for — the part an oil poured over the top does not reach. A butter and an oil are kept separately because they are used at different points and do not feel the same.
Butter and oil remain separate because they provide different control, feel, and routine placement.

What it sits next to
Not a list of everything else. These are the objects the house puts beside this one, and the reason it gives.
The letter
The house writes.
Rarely, and only when something changed.
A letter when an object joins the catalogue, when one leaves it, or when a price moves — and nothing in between. What we know and what we do not is written the same way here as it is on the product pages.
